ANTP peace moves hang

The situation in the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) is still unclear as efforts to put an end to the lingering crisis in the association is likely to hit the rock following the uncooperative attitude of  some leaders and the embattled president,  Sky Entertainment learnt.
The president, Comrade Victor Ashaolu, has revealed that he was not fighting anybody and that no member of the association offended him, including its elders.
He told Sky Entertainment that he would only  agree to superior arguments put up by interested peacemakers, especially when it is constitutional.
He added further that none of his executive members, including him, has either willingly or
forcefully resigned from their respective positions, adding that the delegates’ conference is the highest decision according to the constitution of the association.
“All executive members are still together. The rumour doing the rounds about resignation is untrue. There is no argument about my election as the president because nobody contested with me,” he said.
On the other hand, an elder in the association, Oyewole Olowomojuore, a.k.a Baba Gebu, confirmed to Sky Entertainment that the peace meeting being planned may happen anytime soon as the embattled president has pleaded with the elders and is ready to reconcile with them.
He, however, stated that “some of the executive members have been advised to resign from their respective positions, including the president, before further development.”
Ashaolu, however, debunked this statememt from Baba Gebu, insisting to R that none of his executive members resigned.
