Ebelechukwu wins beauty pageant

Ebelechukwu Chinelo Enemchukwu, a 32-year-old corporate executive and a mother of three, has emerged the first edition of Mrs United Nations Pageant in Nigeria, carting away US Dollar price money, a branded car and the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the world finale scheduled for July in Kingston, Jamaica.
The event which was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja is aimed at giving women the opportunity to come together in a pageant setting regardless of their background, to build relationships with other men and women who are working diligently to leave a positive impact in their communities.
Commenting on her victory at pageant, Ebelechukwu Chinelo Enemchukwu said: “the Mrs United Nations Nigeria title that I just clinched is indeed a milestone achievement in my life; it feels good to know that I will be representing my country, Nigeria in the Mrs Category at the grand finale of the United Nations Beauty Pageant slated to hold in July in Kingston, Jamaica. By God’s grace, I hope to win this and promote the pageant system, as well as my pet project known as the Women Are Beautiful Inside and Out (WABIO) Foundation”.
As the United Nations Pageants delegates come together and share their community volunteer projects, ideas and goals with each other, they become unified as pageant sisters in the United Nations Pageants Family. This sisterhood strengthens them to see beyond their immediate surroundings and situations and extends their service across the globe. As each delegate share ideas of how she serves her community, she and all whom she meets will be strengthened and edified because their paths have crossed.
According to Ebelechukwu, her pet project, WABIO is a platform that seeks to restore and sustain the confidence, self-esteem and self-worth as well as life ambition of girls and women which may have been dented or even lost following childbirth.
This is in line with the third Millennium Development Goal - promoting gender equality and empowering women.
United Nations Beauty Pageant Nigeria has 5 categories; aside from Enemchukwu who clinched the Mrs UN Nigeria title, other winners include Vivian Adaeze Nnnamani who was crowned Miss UN  Nigeria 2015, others are Jacquelyn Madu, Miss Teen UN 2015; Ms Nigeria UN, Tubosoye Dokubo as well as Miss Tourism UN, Kessy Isong.
The Mrs United Nations Nigeria pageant is a platform created for married women between the ages of 30 and 60 years to provide them the opportunity to showcase their God given beauty. On the whole, Contestants were judged on their interview skills, sportswear, fashion and evening gowns and how photogenic they were.
