Notable Nollywood practitioners and some of the executive members of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has joined other Nigerians to visit the Ikenne home, Ogun State to pay a condolence visit to the family of Awolowo over the death of matriarch, Mrs. HID Awolowo.
The delegate which was led by the president of the association, veteran actor, Dele Odule, were received by one of the daughters of the late HID Awolowo, Dr. (Mrs) Tokunbo Awolowo Dosunmu at the Efunyela Hall at the Awolowo residence.
Odule commiserated with the family of Awolowo and chronicled the contributions of both the patriarch and matriarch of the family to the Nigerian film industry, adding that, " the association has lost a prominent member in the film industry family. Mama should be commended for the legacy she left. She was an embodiment of good things. I urge her children to follow in the footsteps of their mother who emulated all the commendable things she has achieved and even go beyond them.”
In her words, Dr. Awolowo Dosunmu acknowledged the actors for their visit and urged them to use their art to preserve the culture of the Yoruba people and tell the stories of important personalities in the South west region through their films.
Actor Yomi Fash-Lanso who was part of the delegate said that Mama Awolowo was a mother to us all. We will miss her so much.”
Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Baba Latin, Papi Luwe, Antar Laniyan, Sokoti, Peju Ogunmola and others.
