Ojb's burial begins with candlelight procession today

The final journey of the late music producer, OJB who passed on back in June 14, 2016 after a long term battle with kidney disease will commence today with a candlelight procession in Lagos State.

OJB who would have clocked 50 today, July 4, battled with kidney problems since 2013 and was flown to India for a transplant. However, his kidney transplant failed again a week before his demise which led to his death.

According to his family, the final burial rites will commence today with a candlelight procession at his residence in Surulere, Lagos.

The exercise is slated to kick off from the late singer's house at No 4, Gbaja street, Surulere, Lagos.


A wake keeping, service of songs and tributes will take place on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Ojays, National Stadium, Surulere by 5pm.

While the final burial will hold on July 8 with a lying in state also at his residence from 7am – 8am. Burial service will follow  immediately at the Redeemed  Christian Church of God, Grace Chapel, 129, Ogunlana Drive Surulere, Lagos.

He will be buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery, Ikoyi immediately after service.
