When Gowon, clerics, others praised God for 11 hours at 'The Experience 11'

This year’s faith-based concert tagged: ‘The Experience 11,’ an event organised by the House on the Rock Church, Lagos State, was indeed, an experience that would always linger in the hearts of the dignitaries, guest artistes, Christian faithful and other attendees, following the glamour, vibes and business opportunities the 11-hour event recorded.

The music concert, which marked its 11th year, recorded another landmark success as it hosted thousands of people from all walks of life at its usual venue, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island, last Friday.
The event, which witnessed praises and fun was graced by the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo; representatives of the Lagos State governor, Mr Ambode Akinwumi; Femi Pedro; Jimi Agbaje; United States Consulate General, John Bray, among others.
Clerics from various denominations including Pastors Matthew Ashimolowo; Mike Okonkwo; Sam Adeyemi; Ituah Ighodalo, among others, also graced the event.
With electrifying performances, which took place between 6:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., the event commenced with a ministration by the House on the Rock Church choir, while the atmosphere became charged when leading gospel artistes mounted the stage. Onos, Eno Michael, Sammie Okposo, and Segun Obe, thrilled the audience with song ministration.
One of the high points of the event was when Don Moen joined Frank Edward on stage in a duet. Moen wowed people as he sang in Igbo language, just as he later performed his popular songs. Another high point of the event was the performance of Donnie McClurkin who sang fluently in Yoruba, to the admiration of people.

The songs also came from Cece Winans, Gabriel Eziashi, Midnight Crew, Travis Greene, Chioma Jesus, Tope Alabi. The event also featured prayer sessions for Nigerians led by some clerics.
Comedian Akpororo also performed at the event which had the special appearance of celebrities including MAVIN leader and music producer, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Stephanie, among others.   
In his goodwill message, Ambode commended the convener’s initiative to have gathered Christians and non-Christians to worship God and also intercede for the nation, especially as the country was facing trying times.
“It is a welcome development and I am glad to be part of this because this is the only way we can seek the face of the Lord. I urge Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for stable economy and fruitful incoming year,” Ambode stated.
Speaking on the importance of the event, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who noted that the gospel must be preached at all costs, added that “every Christian ought to be multidimensional with political, economic, social and spiritual influence. Christians should be involved in governance. Our nation deserves not the worst, leading the rest, but the best serving the rest. It is to our delight that ‘The Experience’ has not only influenced Nigerian Christianity, but has also contributed to the growth of the nation’s economy.”
