Buhari, OBJ, Saraki congratulate Ebenezer Obey at 75

President Muhammadu Buhari, former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Senate President, Bukola Saraki, have congratulated multi-talented music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer (Prof.) Obey-Fabiyi, on his 75th birthday on April 3, 2017.


Buhari in a letter to the music legend  and General Overseer of the Decross Gospel Mission, said:

‘‘Please accept my congratulations, and that of teeming Nigerians, on this occasion of your 75th birthday anniversary.

‘‘Chief Commander Ebenezer Fabiyi Obey is a household name in Nigeria, and even beyond. You have through music flown the flag of our country proudly in many nations of the world, and you are a veritable ambassador of our motherland.’’

The President said Nigerians rejoice with the septuagenarian at the auspicious moment, while praying that God will grant him more years of service to our country, in particular, and humanity in general for many more years.

In the same vein, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, who is also the father of the day of tomorrow's event on behalf of the Obasanjo's family rejoiced with 'the Chief Commander' as he clocks 75.

"We have followed with keen interest, over the years, your impressive career as a musician of international repute, a revered evangelist and businessman of note.

"In your over three decades on Nigerian performing stage, you have distinguished yourself as a profoundly gifted artiste. As a composer, instrumentalist, producer, and performer, you have, together with the likes of King Sunny Are, Sir Victor Efosa Uwaifo, Chief Osita Osadebe, among others, taken Nigerian music to the global podium," Obasanjo stated in his goodwill message.

Also, in his congratulatory message, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, expressed his delight to join his family and admirers across the world to celebrate with the Miliki exponent.

He said in a letter to the celebrant, "you have become an icon, pioneer, role model, pathfinder, and above all, a social crusader who utilised the medium of music to preach patriotism, good conduct and devotion to the ultimate creator of all beings."
