Popular, Fuji act, Taye Currency plans big for 2017

Taye Currency is set to begin work on his next album.

The Ibadan-based Fuji act has already completed talks with two prominent Hip Hop acts based in Ibadan and Lagos. The names are still being witheld for some tactical reasons.

In a brief ‘chat’ with R, Taye said he would follow with videos for the two singles, just as he has started working on a single.

“I am surely going to be in my element this year. 2017 is going to see Taye Currency move into another phase. My music, my person, my organisation will be on another level and my fans will be the most pleased with the new me,” he asserted.

The Fuji musician, who was recently celebrated in a sold-out concert at Mauve 21, Ring Road, Ibadan, said the two-week non-stop musical shows he engaged in from December 23 to January 8 was a dress rehearsal of what fans should expect from him.

“I know that things cannot, must not be the same again this year. I am ready for what this year has in stock and can’t wait to drop my singles and album. As regards the singles, I am about to record with the two hip hop artistes, I can’t disclose their names until I have their permission to do so. What we are doing for now is strictly under sealed lips. But the media, my backbone, will be the first to know when the time is right,” he said.
