You are much active in political campaign of the Lagos State governor-elect, what really prompted your decision and why are entertainers identifying themselves with politicians?
Indeed, I am a politician, but we cannot run away from the fact that all human beings generally are political animals and having said that, I think I deserve the right to pitch my tent with any political party I feel is good for me. Taking a look at all the All Progressive Congress, (APC) ruling states and success it recorded at the last general election, it is clear that the states witnessed tremendous development. However, despite the fact that I follow politics, it has not for once affected my primary call, which is music.

YOU recently gave back to the society as part of activities marking your 32nd birthday. What really informed this?
I won’t describe it as giving back to the society. I would say it was a development aimed at investing in my community. We are looking at how we can make people become the best in their endeavours in our own little way. So, I worked with my friends at the French Cultural Centre and the Alliance Francais. We decided to donate French lessons to both junior and senior secondary school students of Agidingbi Grammar school. A French teacher will go there once a week to teach French.

Congratulations on your 73 birthday, how do you feel attaining this age?
I feel so grateful to God for my life and all that He has done for me in the last 73 years. Looking back to my early days as I went from being a child to a man, a married man, having children and especially the magic things the Lord has done for me in my profession, honestly, I will continue to be grateful to God because when I was 40, it was a landmark in my life. I was also able to celebrate 50, then 60, until three years ago when I clocked 70, the light of God has continued to shine on me, even till now.
