The high point of the COSON Week, tagged: "COSON Songs Award" held on Friday recognised music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi with a prestigious award among other award presentations.
Obey, who received the 'Mater Composer Award', a Life Time Achievement award in person as the most prolific songwriter/composer the Nigerian nation has produced.
According to the COSON chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, "Ebenezer Remilekun Aremu Olasupo Obey-Fabiyi known to many as Ebenezer Obey. This incredibly gifted Nigerian has composed and recorded over one thousand songs. His beautiful and evergreen songs have inspired many across the Nigerian nation and far beyond and indeed have been the soundtrack of growing up for many Nigerians."
The award presentation which was done by the Lagos State governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje among other dignitaries at the Expo Hall, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In his remarks, Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, who just returned from the US, expressed his gratitude on the recognition as well as saluted the brains behind the initiative. He added "This, indeed is a well appreciated honour. I will not relent to continue to give my best. I also want to use this medium to charge the young generation artistes emulate this and ensure thier works have relevance irrespective of time and space."
