F.E.M.I leaves Kennis Music

Femi Adeyinka a.k.a Capital FEMI, R n B crooner, has announced his exit from Kennis Music after his recording contract with the entertainment company expired.
Femi, the younger brother of comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, after expiration of his contract weeks ago, had the option of renewing his contract with Kennis Music, but decided to move on, according to some sources, following some irregularities and circumstances that saddled his relationship with the label.

Capital Femi’s music career had taken a backseat for a while after the release of his album, ‘The Year of the R n B’, which some fans have touted as one of the best R n B album to come out of Nigeria.
According to a source, Femi left Kennis Music after years of enduring a lull in his career. The source said, “as a matter of fact, Capital Femi only decided to play the role of a gentleman by enduring to complete the tenure of the contract. He wasn’t satisfied with certain things the label did to him.
The musician, however, is not in a hurry to sign on to another label, R learned on Friday. He only wants to drop a number of his singles for now before deciding  on what to do next”, a spokesman said.
The artiste management outfit owner added that “Femi, for now, is keen on working alone and has not agreed to work with any of the labels already eager to sign him on”. No reason was given by the man.
F.E.M.I, who joined Kennis Music upon his return into the country from America in 2011,  told some journalists at the recently held COSON 5th anniversary party  and that he had been working on new materials, but was waiting for the appropriate time to do so.
“I am working everyday, but sometimes it is worth the wait to gather yourself to prepare new materials for your fans”, he said.
Also, F.E.M.I is putting finishing touches to his newest single scheduled for release later this month and he has put together new team that will be handling his career.
He now joins the rank of Jaywon, Essence and Minjin who all recently parted ways with the label that once housed one of Africa’s finest talents, 2face Idibia.
Capital Femi returned to Nigeria from his United States base in 2011, and joined Kennis Music to help manage his budding musical career.
Gbenga Adeyinka linked his brother to Kennis Music.
However, despite all that has happened, Femi said he is grateful to the label for the huge support given to his career.
