Multiple award-winning actor, John Setor
Dumelo has revealed that his recent appointment as the Tourism ambassador of
his home country Ghana comes with no remuneration.
The entrepreneur
and philanthropist, who has resumed the office since the announcement, said the Ministry of Culture Tourism and Creative Arts appointed him not
for any fetish or monetary reasons, but because of his love for tourism and the
fact that he has been a tourism advocate for the country over five years.
Just as he promised in his statement after
the announcement to give his best to project the good image of the world and
promote its tourism to other countries. He said: “I will still continue going
to tourist attractions in Ghana, put it on my social media and let people know
of the wonderful places Ghana has. It’s strictly voluntary. The ministry is not
paying me, neither am I getting anything from it.”
John Dumelo, who announced his appointed
through his Instagram handle with a picture of himself and the Minister for
Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Honourable Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare,
expressed his joy saying, “happy to be appointed tourism ambassador by the
Minister of Tourism. I'm happy to promote Tourism in Ghana and also sell Ghana
to the rest of the world.”
