Aftermath Skiibii's death rumour: Five Star music sacks manager

Following the heavy criticisms that greeted the Five Star Music label over what some people described as publicity stunt for their recently signed artiste who was said to have collapsed and died in the early hours of last week Friday.
To the extent that the social media was awash with the news of Skiibii's demise with popular artistes such as MI, Wizkid, Olamide, Iyanya among others sending condolence messages on twitter and Instagram, lamenting the unfortunate death of the promising young singer, who had just released a new track, Sampu.

The leading artiste of the label, Kcee who said he was in Norway at the time of the unfortunate incident, regretted the situation, just as he revealed that the development was blown out of proportion.

Kcee further condemned their manager, Soso Soberekon over his carelessness in handling the entire issue unprofessionally, adding that, "he made a big mistake and acted unprofessionally with the death confirmation to the media without really verifying if Skiibii was really dead."

As a result of Soso incompetence and the damage he has caused the label, Kcee, confirmed that Soso has been fired. He, however, apologised to people, especially their fans who were affected by the misleading information.
He restated: "Soso has been fired and he will be made to face the music. He has to apologise to our fans for the ridicule. We are still very angry at his unprofessional manner, and we have made it a must for him to apologise to everyone affected, especially to the fans and Linda Ikeji who first broke the news”.

In his apology note , the former manager who seems to have regretted his actions wrote on his Instagram page last Friday that he was sorry and regretted the damage hi may have caused.

He wrote: "I’m offering my unreserved apology to everyone, especially Linda Ikeji, all media houses, friends, fans, the entire “Five Star Music Group” and the general public. Following events inaccurately reported in the media on one of the artistes under my management Skiibbii ‘Abbey Toyyib Elias’, that subsequently resulted in adverse publicity to our group. With my wealth of experience in the entertainment business, I would like to state that events leading to the above misinformation through my channel was due to a breakdown in communication. I accept full responsibility and this fell short of the high standard that I have always maintained within the industry, thus the reason why I offer this apology. Going forward, such sensitive situations would be better dealt with. I am sincerely sorry.”

Soso has been managing the affairs of Five Star Music over five years until last week Wednesday when he was sacked by the label in the wake of the embarrassing publicity stunt.
